Irene Rimer is a Doctor of Philosophy, Metaphysical Counselor, and Ordained Minister of the International Metaphysics Ministry. Additionally, She is an International Flamenco Artist, choreographer, and an Accountant with 30 years of experience in the private industry.
Irene was fascinated with Flamenco since she was about 5 years old. Her father was a fan of the art-form and former matador, "bullfighter", in corridas with Cesar and Curro Giron, so he frequented Flamenco tablaos often and took his daughter to performances.
At 7 years, Irene was living with her family in Spain and took classes from a gypsy woman and her daughter her father hired. She perform in several children shows and became a soloist.
She started training in Ballet under Madam Nina Novak, prima ballerina of the Ballet of Monte Carlo, and in Classical Spanish and Flamenco with Jose Serrano, "Pepe." In Madrid, she was privileged to study at the prestigious original Amor de Dios studio in Madrid where she learned from Maria Magdalena, Maria Rosa Merced, El Ciro, El Guito, and La Tati. Once "baptized" by Maria Magdalena with the artistic name "La Chata," Irene performed in the Ferias in Andalusia with Paco del Puerto and El Nano de Jerez, in other regions of Spain with Juan el Extremeno, and in tablaos in Spain and abroad.
Ms. Rimer has shared the stage with Estrella Morena, Pepe de Malaga, Jose Luis Zorrilla, Emilio Prados, Manolo Vargas, La Morita, La China, La Tati, El Nano de Jerez, Leo Heredia, Miguel Hernandez, Pedrito Genil, Juan el Extremeno, & Juan de Alba to name a few. She was El Chino de Malaga prima flamenco dancer and dance partner of Jose "Pepe" Serrano and Paco del Puerto.
As owner and Director of the Irene Rimer Dance Academy in South Florida, she taught Ballet, Flamenco, Modern, Lyrical & Israeli Dance, Belly Dancing, Oriental fusions, and Power Workouts for ten years. The studio produced professional performances where students shared the stage with professional artists. The studio was recognized as one of the best dance studios in the Miami area with a faculty of up to 17 instructors and a student base of about 500 students.
Irene has also taught lyrical Israeli Dancing in churches and Jewish congregations all over South Florida.
Dr. Rimer moved and taught for nine years in Birmingham, Alabama, and was in the advisory board, and a member of the Alabama Dance Council.
Irene has produced many professional performances. She has performed and choreographed for opera companies, special events, and international shows in the US and abroad.
In addition to offering a variety of world dance classes, Flamenco dancing & singing. Rimer also teaches and lectures on Ancient Hermetic philosophy, Metaphysics, and offers counseling and life-coaching sessions. Irene has taught Internal Energy Training, Meditation, and Tae Kwon Do as well.
Dr. Rimer is a member of the American Association of Metaphysical Doctors. She also studied Astrology under Stephanie Jean-Clement and the Rosicrucian Fellowship.
For over 20 years, Dr. Rimer has been studying the ancient works, researching, and compiling texts to produce an easier way to understand the Astro Logic, and combining all the fields of knowledge and wisdom to show the interrelatedness of all things. Irene offers classes, lectures, and metaphysical counseling.
As a Martial Artist, Irene studied Tae Kwon Do with Godfrey Thomas in Pembroke Pines, FL, and Grand Master Jhoon Rhee earning a Black Belt. She was the business partner of the Jhoon Rhee school in partnership with Godfrey Thomas. She also received a Kukkiwon Black Belt under Grand Master Jun Ho Yung in Tampa. Irene trained in Mas Oyama Kyokushin Karate with Mickie Eretz in Hollywood, Florida. She has taught Tae Kwon Do, Kick- Boxing, and Power Workout Classes.
Irene currently lives in the Punta Gorda area and also in Tampa, Florida. She offers group and private classes in person at Universal Flamenco in Tampa, and also online.
Manolo Vargas was born and raised in Sevilla city , Spain close to the “La Macarena neighborhood”. He was singing when he was a child and he was chosen as the lead first voice in the choir of the catholic school of La Salle where he was a student.
When he was 12 years old began playing the flamenco guitar just for fun , learning from some friends living in his neighborhood. After a while Manolo decided to take guitar lessons with the legendary flamenco guitarist ANTONIO de OSUNA. He also came in contact and personal friendship with the awesome flamenco guitarist RAFAEL MENDIOLA from Sevilla and also learned from the great guitarist and teacher MIGUEL PEREZ in Sevilla.
Next, Manolo went to learn to play for flamenco dance when he was 17 years old to the “Awarded gold key of the flamenco dance MATILDE CORAL ACADEMY in Sevilla where he acquired proficiency in “toque para bailar.”
He is also a flamenco singer proficient in the art of singing for dancing which is a specialty in the flamenco art.
Manolo began as a professional performer when he was 22 years old and played in flamenco tablaos all over in Spain including Canary Island.
Then he began working in the “Tablao Flamenco de CURRO VELEZ in Sevilla, where he played for many famous flamenco dancers and singers.
Then, he toured all over Europe mostly in the Netherlands with the flamenco group ensemble “FIESTA GITANA” directed by the great flamenco legendary dancer CURRO VELEZ including artists of the category of JUANITO VILLAR, LA TATI, EL BIEMBE , Manolo Dominguez “EL RUBIO” and CURRO VELEZ himself just to name a few of them.
At the age of 28, Manolo decided to move to USA with his wife Estefania, a flamenco dancer, and settled in Miami where he continued to play in tablaos, weddings, private parties, etc. He then toured with famous flamenco dancer residing in New York JOSE MOLINA ensemble, playing in many cities all over East and North USA.
Manolo moved to California where he taught flamenco guitar lessons for many years. He sang in many flamenco shows in San Francisco, San Jose and all over the Bay Area.
Currently, Manolo Vargas lives in Florida, USA, in the Spring Hill area. He is in collaboration with the great flamenco dancer, choreographer, and teacher IRENE RIMER playing and singing for her classes and also teaching flamenco guitar lessons for those who are interested at Universal Flamenco.

Tony Arnold studied flamenco guitar for many years with Carlos Ramos in Washington DC. At that time Tony also began working in the musical instrument restoration lab at the Smithsonian Institution and playing nightly classical guitar gigs to support himself while earning a degree at the University of Maryland.
After service as a US Naval officer he went on to study flamenco guitar with Rafael Morales in Granada, Spain, afterward earning a PhD in evolutionary paleontology at Harvard.
Throughout his career as a professor at Brown University and Florida State University and after his retirement, Tony continued to perform classical and flamenco guitar.
He studied with Juan Serrano and presently performs with Irene Rimer’s flamenco group.
He presently lives in Dunedin, Florida.

This small gesture went the longest of ways, because Aurora never forgot the energy from the image. Though her Flamenco journey started later in life, it was this simple moment where Aurora felt curiosity and instant longing to learn this artistry.
In addition to dancing, Aurora sings writes stories and poetry. Throughout her adult life, she has performed in multiple spaces across Tampa Bay.
Aurora is deeply moved and inspired by the powerful diversity of history and emotion channeled in Flamenco music and movement.
Today, Aurora continues her journey of growth in her study of this unique and special art form. You can see her perform solo throughout the region or as part of the Universal Flamenco troupe.
Brooke has been studying Flamenco under Dr. Irene Rimer since 2015.
She was first inspired to take up this art form after dancing the ‘Spanish’ role in the Nutcracker suite.
Brooke’s former dance experience is in ballet; she studied a mixture of Ceccheti and Vaganova methods under the tutelage of Dan Guin and Jane Tyree at Boca Ballet theatre.

Anelisse Ingebrand has been an ardent student under the expert guidance of Master Flamenco artist Irene Rimer for over two years since relocating to the Tampa Bay area in 2021. An accomplished professional, Anelisse serves as the President and COO of a thriving software development company. Outside of her work commitments, Anelisse immerses herself in the captivating world of Flamenco, a dance form she is deeply passionate about.
Born and raised in Venezuela, Anelisse's initial experience with Flamenco began during her teenage years, dedicating a few years to learning the art. As her career progressed, she had the opportunity to live in countries like Thailand, Australia, and Canada. Her move to the US in 2014 reawakened her love for Flamenco, especially in 2018 when she connected with a skilled dance instructor in Houston. Those two years were marked by intense learning and immersion. It was in Tampa, however, where she found a renewed sense of purpose with Irene Rimer, who stands as a beacon of inspiration for her. Anelisse aspires to mirror Irene's grace and expertise in her own dance one day.
With every step and gesture, Anelisse is driven by a vision: to become a dancer whose performances not only captivate but deeply resonate with her audiences, forging lasting memories. Her journey, rooted in dedication and dreams, serves as a testament to the transformative power of passion and her undying love for Flamenco.
